Builder Learning#6 Wall framing basics 壁のフレーミング
今回は壁のフレーミングに関して。
NZでは基本的にアメリカと同じ2x4(ユーバイフォー)工法です。
アメリカでは木材のサイズは2"x4"= 38mm x 89mmです。
しかし実際の2"は50mmです。
なので木材を実際のインチにあわせると50mm x 100mm。
この理由は1940年代の建築ラッシュ以前には50mm x 100mmの木材を使っていたそうです。しかし住宅供給の増加で木材不足が発生したので元の規格よりも小さくし木材不足を軽減した。という歴史があったそうです。

NZはアメリカと違い45mm x 90mmが2"x4"の規格になります。
Rough sawn(のこ引き仕上げ)は50mm x 100mm。
Mchine gauge(機械仕上げ)は45mm x 90mmになります。
基本的に林業が盛んで木材がふんだんにあるからでしょうか。おそらく。
これらが壁のフレーミングの概要になります。
Top plate...A member on top of a stud wall on which joists rest to support an additional floor or to form a ceiling.
Studs...A vertical member of appropriate size (2" x 4" to 4" x 10") (or 50 mm x 100 mm to 100 mm x 250 mm) andspacing (16" to 30") (or 400 mm to 750 mm) to supportsheathing or concrete forms.
Clipple studs...In construction framing, members that are less thanfull length; for example, studs above a door or below a window.
Diagonal brace...A member installed at an angle to make a rectangularframe more rigid.
Header (or Lintel ) ...A horizontal supporting member, installed above an opening such as a window or a door, that serves to carry the weight of the wall above it.
Bottom plate...A member on bottom of a stud wall.
やはりこのようなフレームの構造を見るとワクワクしますね。
